Current scenario :-
Amazon forest burn is due to cattle ranching and loggers . There is large amount of greenhouse gas emission from meat industry. There are many problems in meat industry like wastage of water , use of antibiotics in livestock and poultry feed which will lead to antibiotic resistance , a biggest threat to global health and food security.
Future solutions:-
Increase in production of healthy and nutritious plant based meat and innovate the technology to manufacture “ cultivated meat” also called clean meat . Clean meat is prepared by taking samples of cells from animals .
Beyond meat : It makes burger from pea protein and has successful IPO this year .
Good Dot : opened six eateries in Mumbai and makes everything from burger to plant based Kheema pav .
